Mr Alan Doherty

MBChB MD, FRCS, Consultant Urological Surgeon

Mr Doherty completed his undergraduate training at The Middlesex Hospital before undergoing his surgical training at the Royal Marsden and Charing Cross Hospitals in London. He also studied at The Institute of Urology before taking up his position in 2001 as a Consultant Urologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the largest urological cancer centre in the West Midlands. He has published extensively on prostate cancer including articles in The Lancet. Alan has a specialist interest in Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy and has performed over 300 such cases. He also has a particular interest and expertise in the application of minimal access surgery for the treatment of endometriosis involving the urological (bladder, kidneys and ureters) system.
